No picture A is not Ferdy with a new collar embarking on his European Grand Tour. It is Thomas. Not his brother either. Thomas is a Flat Coat Retriever German Shorthair cross. Isn't he handsome. He lives in the Netherlands and was 8 months old in that photo. He is now 18months old. The fact that they look so similar yet are not only completely unrelated are not even the same breed parentage is amazing. But apparently not so surprising for those who understand their Mendelian laws of genetics.

Thank you Monique for sending in his photo. There is another of him on my blog page. So when I titled this page "Dogs like Ferdy" I had no idea I would find one who is just his spitting image (Ferdy's little white patch apart).

No picture A is not a long lost one of Ferdy as a pup. It is of Jager. Another gorgeous cross between a Weimaraner and a Short Haired Pointer. Another with a very shimmery coat.

Top one is the Ferds. Pic B is Blu. A wonderful GSP/Weimaraner cross. I just love her poise and those crossed paws. She's terrific.

 

These lookalikes are quite cosmopolitan. We have representatives from Europe, the US and central England. Calling any Ferdy lookalikes in Australia please.
